JESUS BIRTHDAY PARTY
The magi from the east searched for the king to be born. When they found
Jesus the king, they worshiped and presented him with gifts.
Every year at this time we celebrate the birthday of Jesus by worship and
giving him gifts. Sunday Dec. 20th, Set Free Church was packed with gifts.
These gifts were the hearts of people.
There was no room, just standing room in the sanctuary. The aisles where
filled up with people standing and kids sitting on the floor all over the place.
The band lead us in birthday songs about Jesus birth. Pastor Willie then
preached the nativity story of Jesus birth. He explained the reason for Jesus
coming to Earth. The reason was he was on a search and rescue mission.
To seek and save the lost. Several responded to the love of God. Under the
Christ tree, Jesus unwrapped people's hearts, Jesus favorite gift.
Then the crowds gathered outside to get toys, bikes, Bibles, and food bags.
There were more people then previous years because of the hard times.
It was a honor to help the parents and see the joy on the kids faces as they
loaded their arms with gifts and food.
We had 163 bikes to give away. It was hard to tell a kid, "sorry we don't have
anymore bikes." Next year we are praying that we'll be able to give each
kid a bike. To see this happen we are going to need your help.
